1. Personalized Data Analysis: Exploring News Consumption Habits
Programming Languages: R

The Case Study project involves creating a personalized dataset of daily habits, analyzing it using R, and answering two key questions: how watching the news influences daily activities, and whether I watch the news more than the general population. I collect data on nine variables, including class hours, study hours, sleep hours, beverage consumption, news-watching habits, and more. Through contingency tables, probability rules, proportion comparisons, confidence intervals, and hypothesis tests, I gained insights into my habits and compared them to broader trends. The project culminates in a report outlining findings and reflections on personal habits and news consumption.

2. Personalized Data Analysis Continuum: Unraveling Daily Habits Across Semesters
Programming Languages:R

In this Case Study, I continue to build upon my personalized dataset by adding a semester identifier to track the evolution of my daily habits. Through rigorous analysis using R, I gained deeper insights into my routines and any changes that may have occurred over time. The report structure is clear-cut, starting with an Introduction where I outline the data collection dates, variable descriptions, and the overarching questions driving the analysis. Moving into the Data Analysis section, I employ statistical tests and confidence intervals to delve into my studying and sleeping patterns, as well as to compare differences between semesters. Lastly, in the Conclusion, I provide succinct responses to the study's inquiries and offer personal reflections on the observed habits and any notable alterations.

Platform: Canva

The infographic highlights China's dominance in the cigarette market, with a retail value of $226 billion in 2014, far surpassing Russia's $28 billion. Between 2012 and 2014, the global cigarette market declined by 2.2%, and by 6.3% when excluding China. Sales increased in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East and Africa regions from 2005 to 2014, while other regions saw declines. Over 80% of smokers reside in low and middle-income countries, where the tobacco industry is increasingly focusing. If current trends continue, tobacco use could lead to one billion deaths in the 21st century, underscoring China's pivotal role in stabilizing the global market amid significant health impacts.
